My problem now is that I can't figure out how to open the diabloii.exe with wine. ![]() I took the aforementioned Diablo II folder that was downloaded and patched via my desktop and placed it on my Chromebook's SSD. I have since successfully installed WINE. I have since "power washed" my Chromebook 3 and have installed their stock "Linux Beta" that they have. I ran the program and it still said that I needed to insert the CD. Put it on a USB drive and installed it on my Chromebook 3 via Crouton. I then went on my desktop, installed D2 & LOD through the Blizzard website. I then plugged an external CD-ROM into my Chromebook 3 in an attempt to run the game, but it still said that I needed to insert the CD. I attempted to run the game, but alas, it still requested the CD to be inserted. I obtained all the files off my CD-ROMs for Diablo2 & LOD and put them in the Diablo II folder. Unknown which ones or where to get them reliably. exe it gives me the same error of "insert cd".Īnyone know a work around or fix for this? I did read that if you put certain files in the d2 folder it will work properly. I understand the latest patch of LoD allows to play the game without the CD (I got D2 & LoD from blizzard website) - but when I attempt to run the. Problem is when I finally got the program installed, it keeps saying that I need to have the CD inserted and won't open. I obtained a Chromebook 3 from Verizon for free, so I wanted to install LoD on it because, well, that's probably the greatest thing ever. ![]()
